Sustainability: the pursuit of environmentally sound development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the future!

The 10th Annual IEEE Conference on Technologies for Sustainability (SusTech 2023) is designed to explore technical development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the future generations. The conference brings together scientists, engineers, technologists and scholars from disparate disciplines to conduct a dialogue on environmental issues and collaborate on ideas to develop and utilize innovative tools and intelligent systems to address them. Attendees will explore emerging relevant technologies, latest tools, and proactive solutions to take their sustainability programs to the next level.

For the 10th Anniversary we will also look into policy and economic influences on the diffusion over the past decade of sustainable technologies into general practice (e.g. design and implementation).

SusTech 2023 is an in-person event and will feature technical papers & presentations, posters and workshops.

  • Prominent experts will be giving keynotes, plenary presentations and invited talks.
  • Best Posters and Papers in the conference will be eligible for an award.
  • Full papers will be considered for publication in the IEEE SusTech 2023 Proceedings.

Conference content that meets IEEE quality review standards and format will be submitted for inclusion into IEEE Xplore as well as other Abstracting & Indexing (A&I) databases.

Papers are solicited for presentations from industry, government, and academia (including students) covering relevant research, technologies, methodologies, tools, case studies and public policy.

Call for TPC Reviewers

The peer-review process is a critical part of ensuring the quality and novelty of the papers and presentations at SusTech. If you are interested in being a reviewer, please complete the brief application form linked here. Please note that the timeline for paper submission and review has changed from previous years, with reviews starting in early October. We expect that each reviewer will be asked to review 4 to 6 submissions. Contact Dan Donahoe @ dan@1000kilometers.com if you are interested, or fill out the application form.

Sponsors for SusTech 2023 include the IEEE Oregon, San Fernando Valley, Foothill, Orange County, and Coastal Los Angeles Sections, IEEE Region 6, IEEE-USA; and co-sponsored by the IEEE Standards Association, and the IEEE IAS, OES, PES, SSIT and TEMS Societies.
