Call for Participation SusTech 2016 – Preliminary Program Announced

PHOENIX (Arizona) (7 September 2016) – The 4th IEEE Conference on Technologies for Sustainability (SusTech) has announced its preliminary program and keynote speakers

The fourth IEEE Conference on Technologies for Sustainability (SusTech), on October 9-11, 2016 in Phoenix, Arizona at the Phoenix Airport Marriott, explores the development and application of science, engineering, and technology to promote sustainability. Environmental Sustainability is a major issue facing humanity. To meet present needs without compromising our future, advances in sustainable technology, policy and social behavior are essential. IEEE’s Technologies for Sustainability Conference (SusTech) brings together individuals and organizations who want to promote and apply advances in sustainable technology that allows:

  • Eliminating or reducing dangers such as pollution, global warming, electronic waste and negative impacts to overall health;
  • Minimize the impact of agriculture, energy production, transportation and electronics’ manufacturing and recycling on the environment;
  • Increase operating efficiency by reducing the waste stream; and
  • Use fewer resources to produce the same or better outcomes

The conference explores the development and application of science, engineering and technology to promote sustainability. It brings together technologists and scholars from multiple disciplines to learn about and collaborate on improving sustainable technologies. The program features workshops, keynotes and presentations of contributed papers and invited speakers on research, technologies, methodologies, tools and case studies. SusTech strives to provide attendees the tools, connections and proactive solutions to take their sustainability programs to the next level. Topics covered include Internet of Things, Smart Grid, Renewable Energy, Water, Electronics, Energy Efficiency, Transportation, and Societal Implications of Technology.

Pre-Conference Workshops (Sunday 12-4pm):

  • Makers & Sustainability – Learn the basics of using maker platforms and tools to create proof of concept solutions to sustainability problems.
  • Entrepreneurship – Tech Transfer and Your Intellectual Property

Student Poster Contest (Sunday 3-7pm) – Prizes for first, second and third place.
