Keynote Speakers Announced for IEEE Technologies for Sustainability Conference
OGDEN (Utah) (25 June 2015) – The third IEEE Technologies for Sustainability (SusTech) Conference has announced the keynote speaker lineup.
Keynoters include Will Bagley, historian and noted author (speaking on “Ogden: Junction City”), Michelle Poliskie, NuSil Technology (speaking on “Designing Sustainable Packaging for Implantable Electronic Devices”), and Wolfgang Fengler, Coalition for Sustainable Rail (speaking on “Sustainable Steam in the Twenty First Century”). The third IEEE Conference on Technologies for Sustainability (SusTech) is happening July 30-August 1 in Ogden, Utah at Weber State University. The SusTech 2015 conference is designed to explore the nature of sustainability related technological advances in areas including agriculture, energy, transportation and electronics. The program features workshops, keynotes and presentations of contributed papers and invited speakers on research, technologies, methodologies, tools and case studies. The goal is to promote advances in technology while eliminating or reducing dangers such as pollution, global warming, electronic waste and negative impacts to overall health.
There will be a free public outreach panel discussion at the Salt Lake City Library on July 29 at 6 p.m.
The conference will hold a variety of sessions covering topics including:
- Agricultural Sustainability
- Alternative Energy
- Energy Efficiency
- Transportation Electrification
- Smart Grid
- Sustainable Electronics
- Social Implications
SusTech will feature a half-day workshop on “Fundamentals of Air Pollution”, presented by Charles Stanier, a chemical and biochemical engineering professor at the University of Iowa.
